The latest round of the Colorado Educator Loan Forgiveness Program is now open (closes 4/30/24), and you can complete the easy and quick application now. As I’ve written about previously, every Colorado educator with Federal student loans should apply for this. While the number of awards is limited, some of you will receive $5,000 to apply toward your student loans. And even though not everyone will receive an award, it’s really important that you all apply as that sends a strong signal to the Colorado Legislature that they should not only continue this program, but expand the amount of funding.
While this is designed mainly for rural (pdf) and hard-to-fill positions, keep in mind that hard-to-fill positions encompasses the majority of K-12 positions these days (including such obscure categories as… elementary teacher :-). So please take the five minutes necessary to complete the application.
Thanks! Are there any more programs out there?
